Humanistic Integrative Counselling

Initial Consultation

Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting, which is why I offer a free 20-minute initial consultation. This is an opportunity for us to connect, discuss what you’re looking for, and explore whether we’d be a good fit to work together. You don’t need to prepare anything—this is simply a space to ask questions, share a little about what’s on your mind, and see how I can support you.

My Approach

As an integrative counsellor, I believe that no single approach works for everyone. We are all shaped by different experiences, and the way we process emotions and navigate challenges is deeply personal. My work is informed by person-centred therapy, which means I focus on creating a warm and accepting environment where you feel heard, understood, and empowered. You are at the centre of the process, and I will work at your pace, helping you explore your thoughts and emotions in a way that feels safe and manageable.

I also integrate psychodynamic therapy, which explores how past experiences and unconscious patterns may be influencing your present struggles. By gaining insight into these deeper layers, we can work together to create new ways of thinking and responding that better serve you. Whether you are looking for short-term support with a specific issue or longer-term therapy to explore deeper patterns, I will tailor our sessions to meet your individual needs.

How I Work

I offer in-person, online (via Zoom), and telephone counselling, so you can choose what feels most comfortable for you.

In-person sessions provide a grounding, face-to-face experience in a quiet, confidential space in North London. Online sessions offer flexibility, allowing you to access support from home. Telephone counselling is a good option if you prefer a more private, screen-free way to talk.

Whichever format you choose, I ensure a safe, supportive space where you can feel heard.

Issues I Can Help With

Difficult experiences, emotions, and life events can sometimes feel overwhelming, leaving you uncertain about how to move forward. You might be experiencing anxiety that makes daily life feel exhausting, struggling with depression that affects your sense of self, or navigating grief and loss that feels too heavy to carry alone. Stress, whether personal or work-related, can lead to burnout, leaving you feeling disconnected and depleted. Relationship difficulties can bring up complex emotions, making it hard to communicate or feel secure.

Counselling offers a space to explore these challenges in a way that feels safe, supportive, and free of judgement. Together, we can work through whatever is troubling you, helping you to develop greater clarity, self-awareness, and resilience.

A Trauma-Informed Approach

Trauma can take many forms. It may stem from a specific event, such as loss, violence, or a sudden life change, or it may be something more complex, developing over time through difficult relationships or ongoing stress. The effects of trauma can be far-reaching, sometimes appearing as anxiety, emotional numbness, or a deep sense of unease that is difficult to articulate.

I take a trauma-informed approach, which means I recognise the impact of trauma on both the mind and body. My priority is to ensure that our sessions feel safe and that you remain in control of the pace and direction of your therapy. I work sensitively and respectfully, helping you process difficult emotions in a way that does not feel overwhelming. You do not have to go through this alone—together, we can explore ways to regain a sense of stability, trust, and self-compassion.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I know if counselling is right for me?

Counselling can be beneficial for anyone who wants to explore their emotions, gain clarity, and develop healthier ways of coping. You don’t need to be in crisis to seek support—sometimes, therapy is about gaining insight, self-awareness, and new perspectives.

How many sessions will I need?

This depends on your needs and what you want to achieve. I offer both short-term and long-term therapy, and we can discuss what feels right for you during our initial consultation.

What happens in a session?

Each session is unique to you. We will explore whatever is on your mind at your own pace. Some sessions may focus on specific challenges, while others might involve deeper self-exploration. There is no right or wrong way to experience therapy.

Is everything I share confidential?

Yes. Confidentiality is a key part of therapy. However, there are some legal and ethical limits to confidentiality, which I will explain in our first session.

Do you offer online or telephone counselling?

Yes, I offer counselling in person, online (via Zoom), and by telephone, depending on your preference and needs.

What if I need to cancel a session?

I ask for at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session. Cancellations within this period may be charged in full.
