Humanistic Integrative Counselling in North London and Online

Welcome to Rose Dowling Counselling

Compassionate counselling for clarity, healing, and growth.

Humanistic Integrative Counselling

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming. You may be carrying a deep sense of sadness, anxiety, or loss that feels too heavy to manage alone. Perhaps you’re feeling stuck, unsure of the way forward, or struggling to make sense of emotions that seem too big to untangle. Whatever you are facing, you don’t have to go through it alone.

As a therapist, I offer a compassionate and confidential space where you can feel safe to explore what is on your mind. This is a space for you—to talk, to be heard, and to begin making sense of what you’re experiencing.

About My Practice

I’m Rosemarie Dowling (Rose), a Registered Accredited Member of The British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapy MBACP (Accred). I work with adults both in person and online. Based in North London, I provide therapy that is tailored to your needs, whether you are looking for short-term support or longer-term support.

My approach is humanistic and integrative, meaning I draw on a range of therapeutic methods to support you in a way that feels right for you. I work relationally, listening with care and working at your pace to help you gain clarity and move towards a more fulfilling life. I offer support with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, and bereavement.

How Counselling Can Help

Counselling is an opportunity to pause, reflect, and begin to understand yourself more deeply. It is not about being given advice or ready-made solutions, but about being supported to make sense of your own experiences.

In our sessions, we will work together to explore what is troubling you, gently untangling difficult thoughts and emotions in a way that feels safe and manageable. As you gain insight into your patterns, responses, and underlying feelings, you may begin to develop new perspectives and a greater sense of self-awareness. Over time, counselling can help you feel more grounded, more resilient, and more connected to yourself and those around you.

Issues I Work With

There are many reasons why someone might seek counselling, and no two journeys are the same. You may be navigating grief after a bereavement, feeling anxious and unsettled, or struggling with stress and burnout. Sometimes, emotions from the past resurface in ways that feel unexpected or overwhelming. Other times, there may be no clear reason—only a sense that something feels off, and you don’t quite know why.

My practice is trauma informed and culturally aware, offering a supportive space to explore whatever is on your mind. I have particular experience in working with:

Anxiety

Depression and loss

Bereavement

Relationship difficulties

Workplace stress

Low self-esteem

Feelings of disconnection

Taking the First Step

Reaching out for counselling can feel daunting. It's not always easy to talk about what you're going through, and it takes courage to take the first step.

I offer a free 20-minute initial consultation, where we can discuss what you're looking for and see if we would be a good fit. There is no pressure to commit - just a space to ask questions, share a little bit about what’s on your mind, and get a feel for how I work.

If you’d like to arrange a consultation or find out more, I invite you to get in touch. You don’t have to figure everything out on your own-support is here when you’re ready.

How do I know if counselling is right for me?

Counselling can be beneficial for anyone who wants to explore their emotions, gain clarity, and develop healthier ways of coping. You don’t need to be in crisis to seek support—sometimes, therapy is about gaining insight, self-awareness, and new perspectives.

How many sessions will I need?

This depends on your needs and what you want to achieve. I offer both short-term and long-term therapy, and we can discuss what feels right for you during our initial consultation.

What happens in a session?

Each session is unique to you. We will explore whatever is on your mind at your own pace. Some sessions may focus on specific challenges, while others might involve deeper self-exploration. There is no right or wrong way to experience therapy.

Do you offer online or telephone counselling?

Yes, I offer counselling in person, online (via Zoom), and by telephone, depending on your preference and needs.
